| To transform your life, do this… One of the best things I did for my growth, my self-belief, my peace, shit, my life, was commit to things that asked me to show up regularly and meet myself where fear, insecurity, and all my bullshit had to be faced. Where I am continually invited - little by little - to nudge away at ineffective patterns and beliefs, step into growth-inducing discomfort… … and create new behaviours and ways of seeing myself and what is possible for me. Any meaningful change requires some level of confrontation. What I mean by confrontation here is coming face to face with ourselves. With our edges, our insecurities and fears, all of our bullshit beliefs and stories. That confrontation asks me to choose to stay the same - with the familiar devil I know - or choose to step into the unknown, into the world of possibility; the devil I don’t know. Reminder:If you don’t know it, it’s not the devil. It's just unknown. We build it up to be this big, bad, scary thing. But you can handle the unknown. You can handle change. Especially if staying where you are is hurting you. But this is the exact material of confrontation. And of change. What that asks of me is to let go of some beliefs, identity and behaviours that had me stuck where I was and step up into new capabilities. Ones that reveal themselves once I step. When we do this, growth and change become necessary. We adapt. We learn how to handle the new ground as we step. This is the material of change. And when we make commitments that take us into unknown territory it lays the foundation for that work. We become the man capable of it as we move through it. As we do, our trust and belief in self expands. That stuff can happen in moments of realisation and inspiration. But they must always be followed by courageous actions. Ultimately, what changed for me was my ability to handle the challenges I face in life. And the actual challenges I face - now I have challenges on all new levels. Challenges that ask more of me. Challenges that bring remarkably greater reward and meaning. |

What changed? My approach to my health and fitness - ultimately, how my body looks and feels and how I feel about training and looking after myself with so much more ease and shit-tonne less resistance. My approach to and the state of my relationships - creating so much more depth, so much more capability in communication, in navigating conflict, in asking for what I want, in having great connected relationships. So much more ease and peace. My approach to and ability with money - not only shifting my ability to earn and hold onto money but fundamentally improving my relationship to money. This was a game changer for me, and I have seen it do the same for so many men. My approach to life - moving from being in my head thinking about what others are thinking of me, doubt and fear winning so much, not fully believing in myself or leaning into the challenges and opportunities life brings - to being so much more calm, grounded, courageous, and competent, especially with the shit that matters. If you want to expand your ability to handle your challenges - handle them with more ease, more confidence, more grace, more competence - if you want to be able to face more rewarding challenges - you must first face the honest reality of your situation. Once you face that, then you know what you’re dealing with, regardless of how uncomfortable it is. Then you can make commitments that see you face those things action by action.
