“So, what is it that you do, exactly?”
As you may have noted from some of my recent newsletters, I have relocated my family and business to New Zealand.
It has involved a lot of administrative work. Some of it still going.
In fact, there are lessons forming out of this. So many challenges amongst challenges.
One of these is various conversations with new banks and service providers.
The other day I was on a call with someone from the bank about certain aspects of the new company accounts, about what transactions happen in and out of it, and, ultimately, the nature of the business.
It was an odd conversation.
Like she had never dealt with anyone who has an online business before.
I had to explain simple things about payments I make, like software subscriptions. Even this - this provider that sends out my newsletters.
At the centre of this odd and frustrating chat was the question, “What do you do exactly?”
Now, I have had various forms of that question thousands of times over the years.
The context tends to determine the exact answer I give.
Often over the years, I have simply used words to the effect of “I help everyday men get their shit together so they stop causing shit for themselves and others, and so they can get more from their lives.”
On this occasion, I said, “I provide personal development coaching programs, courses, and services for men. Delivered virtually in various formats from online calls to educational resources and live events.”
This satisfied yet confused her. But it did the job.
However, what I wanted to say has far more punch:
“I help Nice Guys move from insecurity and self-doubt to secure, solid, unfuckwithable good men.”
Of course, I don’t think she would have handled that one.
But it really is the truest way to describe what we do - we help you become secure in yourself, solid, grounded, capable, unfuckwithable.
But WTF is that?
It’s a fair question: “What is an Unfuckwithable Man?”

Other people’s reactions impact him so much - other people’s fucking thoughts! - that he is constantly bending and twisting himself to make sure others are ok so he can be ok.
Like a leaf in the wind, he adapts to the world for the purpose of fitting in and being liked just to feel safe and ok.
Whereas…
An Unfuckwithable Man is secure in himself. He shows up in life and relationships honestly and authentically and allows the world and others to adapt to him.
He is ok if others don’t like him because he respects himself and his sense of self-worth is not dependent on what others think of him.
This man is at ease within himself, he has a sense of purpose, a strong direction in life, clarity and calm, and a way of navigating life and relationships with a grounded confidence.
He isn’t immune to challenges, he can simply handle them with grace, competence, and ease.
